There are three key aspects of economics that are fundamental to a country's competitiveness:

Increased functionality

Increased functionality simultaneously leads to cost reduction

The increase in functionality, with its simultaneous impact on autonomous power supply, has also begun in the field of photovoltaics. Existing sealed roof surfaces can be used for electricity generation by installing solar modules, thus adding another function or positive attribute.

The same applies to the sealed and asphalted surfaces that are so prevalent in urbanized areas. Simply covering them with solar panels isn't enough. In other words, the functional purpose must be accompanied by a positive impact on people and the environment. This is especially true in urbanized areas, where densification means that the remaining open spaces are a far more important indicator of a high quality of life and a positive urban environment. Negative sentiments can translate into destructive behaviors with uncontrolled consequences.

Mobility is a crucial asset in today's world, contributing to a sense of freedom. Open, paved parking spaces are simple and inexpensive. Weather protection, such as a roof, is already considered a cost factor. Generating electricity with a solar-powered roof, and thus increasing its functionality (electricity generation and weather protection), is generating considerable interest.

In addition to the possibility of planting vegetation beneath the transparent solar panels, acceptance and the overall sense of well-being are also increased. With transparent, sunlight-permeable solar modules, growing fruit or vegetables, for example, is easily possible. With a self-sufficient, autonomous power supply, the operation of an automated, moisture-sensor-controlled pumping system with fertilizer enrichment for drip irrigation can be expanded.

In addition, such an agri-PV system also protects against extreme weather events such as heavy rain and hail.
