WhatsApp will soon feature advertising within its "Status" function. This was confirmed by Vice President Chris Daniels. Furthermore, advertising is expected to become the messenger's primary source of revenue.
As the graphic shows, users are critical of the introduction of advertising and would therefore switch messaging apps. According to the YouGov survey, high among young people, at 61 percent; however, the number of users in this age group is also significantly larger than in other age groups. Only three percent stated that they do not use WhatsApp.
