Sixteen percent of manufacturing companies (with at least 10 employees) use industrial or service robots. This was announced by the Federal Statistical Office in a press release on the German government's Digital Summit. According to the release, large companies with at least 250 employees rely on automation to a significantly greater extent than small companies with 10 to 49 employees. Industrial robots are used, for example, for welding, laser cutting, and specialized painting. Service robots are used for tasks such as monitoring, transport, and cleaning.
