Rund 50 Milliarden US-Dollar Umsatz werden 2020 laut einer IDC-Schätzung mit Anwendungen für Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) erwirtschaftet. Wie die Grafik zeigt soll sich das Marktvolumen bis 2024 mehr als verdoppeln. „Unternehmen werden KI einführen – nicht nur, weil sie es können, sondern weil sie es müssen“, so Ritu Jyoti von IDC. Und weiter: „KI ist die Technologie, die Unternehmen dabei hilft, agil, innovativ und skalierbar zu sein.“ Aktuell haben vier der häufigsten Anwendungsgebiete etwas mit Verkauf oder Abwehr von Cyberbedrohungen zu tun. Mit 11,3 Prozent des Marktvolumens liegt derzeit die Automatisierung von Kundendienstmitarbeitern vorne – damit sind vor allem Chat Bots gemeint. Es folgen die Automatisierung von Sales-Prozessen und die automatisierte Erkennung und Abwehr von Bedrohungen.

He continues: „AI is the technology that helps companies be agile, innovative, and scalable. Currently, four of the most common application areas have something to do with selling or fending off cyber threats. At 11.3 percent of the market volume, the automation of customer service staff is currently leading the way – this refers primarily to chat bots. This is followed by the automation of sales processes and the automated detection and defense of threats.
