In der chinesischen Industrieproduktion werden laut IFR jährlich rund 154.000 Roboter installiert – damit ist die Volksrepublik führend in der Nutzung von Industrierobotern. Obwohl viele der weltweit genutzten Fertigungsroboter von Firmen in Japan und Deutschland entwickelt und produziert werden, werden in beiden Ländern gemeinsam jährlich nur halb so viele wie in China in Betrieb genommen. Auch die Industrie in den USA kommt nur auf etwa 40.400 installierte Roboter.
Da viele der großen KFZ-Hersteller in China produzieren, wird ein großer Teil der automatischen Maschinen in der dortigen Automobilproduktion eingesetzt. Auch in der Verarbeitung elektronischer und metallischer Güter wird auf Robotik gebaut. Insgesamt erwarten die Experten bis 2022 etwa vier Millionen aktive Roboter in den Fabriken weltweit. Vor allem für die Handhabung schwerer Gegenstände, Schweißarbeiten und das Zusammenführen verschiedener Bauteile kommen die Industrieroboter zum Einsatz.

Although many of the manufacturing robots used worldwide are developed and produced by companies in Japan and Germany, together only half as many are put into operation annually in both countries as in China. Even the industry in the USA has only about 40,400 robots installed.
Since many of the large car manufacturers produce in China, a large proportion of the automatic machines are used in the car production there. Robotics is also used in the processing of electronic and metallic goods. Experts expect a total of around four million active robots in factories worldwide by 2022. The industrial robots will be used primarily for handling heavy objects, welding work, and the assembly of various components.
