However, only smartwatches (72.4 million) and other wristbands (44.2 million) – primarily fitness trackers – are truly successful. As the graphic illustrates, the idea of ​​making the things we wear smart hasn't yet caught on in other areas. Analysts believe the future of wearables will continue to be largely confined to the wrist. Of the sales projected for 2022, only twelve percent are expected to be for other products such as clothing or headphones.
