🏭 UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH: Sustainable energy initiative ☀️

UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH, a well-known company from Sehmatal-Cranzahl in the Erzgebirge, has taken a big step towards sustainability and renewable energies. They recently installed an impressive solar system on the roof of their factory. With a capacity of 264 kWp, this system is not only an impressive technical undertaking, but also a sign of the company's commitment to environmental protection.

💡 Sustainable energy production and CO₂ saving

Thanks to this new installation, the company can now cover around 30% of its electricity needs itself. This is a significant advance as it not only significantly reduces the company's energy costs, but also makes a significant contribution to reducing CO₂ emissions. In fact, this system saves 118 tons of CO₂ annually, which is equivalent to the amount that almost 10,000 trees could absorb.

🤝 Collaboration with Qcells

Another notable aspect of this project is the collaboration with Qcells, one of the leading companies in the photovoltaic industry. Qcells has earned its reputation through the production of high quality solar modules and solar cells. Their know-how and expertise have certainly helped to realize the full potential of this new solar system.

🔮 UNGER’s vision for the future

Ronny Unger, the managing director of UNGER, expressed enthusiasm about the project and the company's future prospects in relation to renewable energy. He emphasized that in the coming years they plan to invest even more in renewable energy and further reduce their energy dependence. This is not only a question of cost savings, but also a contribution to the energy transition, which is crucial at both national and global levels.

🌍 Sustainability as a core value

Jens-Uwe Fritsche, the company's commercial director, also spoke about UNGER's long-term vision. He sees this project as the beginning of a series of investments in sustainable technologies and practices. For UNGER, sustainability is not just a trend or a marketing ploy. It is a core value that is deeply rooted in the company culture. Mr. Fritsche also emphasized that their sustainability efforts strengthen their position in the market and help them gain recognition from both their business partners and customers.

🌐 Positive impact on the community

In addition, the installation of the solar system also brings benefits for the local community. It creates jobs, promotes technology transfer and increases regional energy autonomy. Even though the plant is located in Sehmatal-Cranzahl, the company plans to implement similar initiatives at other locations, such as Chemnitz.

🌟 A sustainable contribution to society

UNGER's efforts in the area of renewable energy and sustainability are of great benefit to both the company and society as a whole. At a time when climate change and its effects are becoming increasingly clear, such investments not only make economic sense, but are also morally necessary. It will be exciting to see how UNGER and other companies respond to these challenges in the coming years and what innovative solutions they will find. 🌱🌍

🌞 Renewable energies at UNGER

The switch to renewable energies has become a central issue in the economy and society in recent years. This is also evident at UNGER Kabel-Konfektionstechnik GmbH at the Cranzahl site, which has taken the path to a more sustainable future with a photovoltaic system on its hall roof. The system, which was installed in July, has a special east-west orientation and is mounted on a slatted roof. These conditions presented a particular challenge in planning and implementation, especially due to snow load zone 3 in the upper Ore Mountains.

📊 Production capacity and contribution to the energy transition

The solar system has an expected annual production of around 250,000 kilowatt hours (kWh), which corresponds to the annual consumption of around 70 German households. UNGER will consume around 60 percent of the electricity generated itself, the remaining 40 percent will be fed into the public grid and sold. The company is thus making an important contribution to the energy transition and at the same time relies on an independent and clean energy supply.

🔧 Assembly and collaboration

The installation of the system was carried out by the local company Clen Solar, which is also responsible for maintenance. UNGER Elektro- Anlagenbau GmbH is responsible for the installation on the alternating current side and the mains connection. The grid connection should take place in September at the latest. But UNGER does not only rely on solar power in Cranzahl. In collaboration with Qcells, one of the leading providers of photovoltaic solutions, the company plans to install additional solar systems at its other locations in the next few years.

🌱 Future vision and expansion

A special project is an open-space system with an output of around 330 kilowatt peak (kWp) in Chemnitz. With these projects, UNGER shows that it is actively committed to a sustainable future and is strengthening its position as a sustainable, traditional company.

🍃 Advantages of solar power

The advantages of solar power are many. On the one hand, the use of solar energy contributes to reducing CO2 emissions and thus helps to combat climate change. On the other hand, by using solar power themselves, companies and households can reduce their energy costs and become less dependent on external energy suppliers.

🔍 Technology and benefits

However, installing a photovoltaic system does not only make sense from an ecological and economic point of view. The use of solar energy also offers many advantages from a technological perspective.

🌟 Graduation and showcase project

The photovoltaic system in Cranzahl is a showcase project for the use of solar energy. With its modern technology, the efficient use of solar energy and the possibility of self-consumption and feeding into the public grid, it not only contributes to the energy transition, but also shows that sustainable energy supply and economic success can go hand in hand. With this project, UNGER and Qcells have once again proven that they are among the pioneers on the path to a clean and sustainable future.
