In a recent study, the Universal Postal Union compared postal companies in 170 countries in terms of reliability, reach, relevance, and resilience. And although there are often complaints in Germany about rising postage costs and misdelivered packages, Deutsche Post performed well. As the graphic shows, the mail and parcel carrier landed in third place in the international ranking with almost 91 out of a possible 100 points – an improvement of two places compared to the previous year. Swiss letter writers, therefore, must be absolutely delighted: their postal service secured the full 100 points.

The Universal Postal Union still regulates international cooperation among postal authorities and the international framework for cross-border postal traffic. The study incorporated data from more than 3 billion items as well as survey data.
