One of the Germans' favorite pastimes is watching television. The average daily viewing time last year was 221 minutes. As the infographic shows, news programs were by far the most popular television format among German citizens last year. Crime programs and live sports broadcasts or sports programs such as Sportstudio or Sportschau come in second and third place. This is followed by programs with a regional connection. Travel and quiz shows follow closely behind.
