At its Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled a new smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch. The new model will be available in two sizes (42 and 46 millimeters). Whether the South Korean company will succeed in closing the gap with Apple with this new smartwatch remains to be seen. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch's lead is quite substantial, as recent IDC figures show. Analysts estimate sales for the past year at 17.7 million units. Samsung, in contrast, only managed to sell a comparatively meager 3.6 million devices.
