Almost every second social media user regularly cleans up their contact list. There are hardly any differences between the age groups, as the graphic from Statista shows. A total of 46 percent of those surveyed in a recent Bitkom survey stated that they regularly check their contact list and unfriend or unfollow distant acquaintances, influencers who have become uninteresting or friends with whom they have grown apart.
So if you are suddenly no longer friends with a person on Facebook or can no longer see the pictures on Instagram, you may have fallen victim to digital spring cleaning in your contact list.
