Intelligent living – or smart home – is an integral part of digitization as part of the Internet of Things. The topic of smart home is also becoming more and more important on the consumer market. A Statista survey shows in which areas users rely on smart home: The most popular are networked light products such as light bulbs that can be controlled via smartphone app. This is followed by virtual assistants and entertainment products, such as loudspeakers. Only on the rear three ranks have made devices that can make the household more sustainable and secure. Experts expect the smart home market to grow strongly in the coming years: the global turnover will therefore increase by an average of 27.5 percent per year by 2022.
