If you ignore shaving needs (pre- and after-shaves, etc.), men use skin care products much less often than women. The most important target group for skin care products has always been women, even if men have caught up somewhat in recent years. According to a population survey by Allensbach, day cream is one of the cosmetic products that a majority of women in Germany use weekly. Two out of five also use a night cream. Another consumer survey, which asked about products used monthly, shows that hand and day creams as well as body milk and lotions are used by 75 to over 80 percent of the women surveyed, and lip care products as well as night and skin creams by more than half.

When buying cosmetics, brand and price are equally important decision criteria for women, even if brand loyalty is relatively strong.

According to the Allensbach market and advertising media analysis (AWA), around one in seven men had used a moisturizer in the week before the survey. The consumption and media analysis (VuMa) shows that the proportion of men who use hand cream at least once a week is around 50 percent. Skin and face creams are then used regularly by around a third.

The global market for cosmetics has been growing steadily for years. Growth rates of over four percent are not uncommon. Even during the financial and economic crisis of 2008/2009, the global cosmetics market developed positively with one percent growth. In 2019 the growth rate was 5.3 percent. And a growing market for cosmetics and personal care is also forecast for the future. According to the forecast, the global market volume for skin care products is expected to be around $150 billion in 2025. In 2019 this was around $133 billion.

Wolfenstein.EU is a new unconventional blog for men. “Men's World – Authentic and Different”. The idea came about during the Corona pandemic. The concept and implementation were developed between September and November. The blog has been in beta since the beginning of December. Classic social media measures are deliberately left out. The Xpert.Digital project is also an approach and attempt to address and arouse interest among interested parties beyond the typical bid & paid mainstream that now dominates social media.
