At CeMAT, the intralogistics provider Kardex Remstar showed its visitors how storage and provisioning processes can be controlled and monitored using new software apps

“The future is now – Smarten up your business” – under this slogan, Kardex Remstar presented its concepts for smart production logistics. Part of the solution consists of innovative, web-based apps that incorporate all the functionalities of Kardex Remstar's Power Pick Global warehouse management software. The system is an efficient and user-friendly software solution for managing inventory and controlling the associated warehouse and picking orders. It is flexible and covers a wide range of applications, from production to distribution logistics.

The control software can be used in conjunction with Kardex Remstar dynamic storage systems, as well as simpler storage systems such as flow racks. It supports customers in using their storage systems more efficiently, both in stand-alone operation and in networked configurations. In addition to its performance characteristics, the program places particular emphasis on ease of use, which primarily includes intuitive software operation.

Hence the newly developed apps, which offer order pickers, warehouse workers, and administrators the applications they need to manage and monitor warehouse processes, regardless of location. For example, warehouse equipment can be accessed via Wi-Fi using a tablet computer. This allows for the control of inbound and outbound processes, checking inventory levels, and generating reports and statistics. In short, after password-protected login, users have access to the full range of software applications on their mobile devices. Furthermore, the apps can be extended as needed or configured to meet customer requirements, and custom programming is also easily possible. For instance, customer-specific functionalities of barcode scanners or cameras can be seamlessly integrated into the apps.

In the following video, Jürgen Schnatterer, Head of Development and Design at Kardex Remstar, explains the functionality in more detail:
