In simple terms, the term “Internet of Things” (IoT) describes the networking of electronic devices with the Internet. However, this does not include PCs, tablets and smartphones. Examples of IoT include intelligent thermostats, traffic control systems and street lighting. recent study by Gartner, there are currently 3.8 billion devices connected to the Internet worldwide, 1.8 billion of which are in the consumer sector. Analysts predict that the IoT will become an everyday phenomenon by 2020, with 25 billion connected devices.
