Efficient container storage in the HRL Armasuisse: advantages of siloba construction in high -bay bearings

Advanced heavy -duty logistics for national security - a milestone of modern storage technology

The Swiss procurement organization Armasuisse brought together the steadily growing requirements for security, efficiency and sustainability in warehouse logistics in search of a forward -looking solution with LTW Instalogistics. As a competence center of the Swiss army for procurement, technology and real estate, Armasuisse attaches great importance to innovative and reliable systems. In close cooperation with LTW-a specialist for automated high-bay warehouse-and Jungheinrich AG as a complete provider for all intralogistics, a heavy-duty high-class bearing was created that sets new standards in military logistics. While Jungheinrich took over the overall responsibility for intralogistics, LTW contributed the specially developed shelf control unit. This partnership -based implementation combines Swiss precision, Austrian engineering and German logistics skills and underlines the claim of all involved, long -term and sustainable infrastructures for national defense.

A paradigm shift in military logistics

At a time when logistical efficiency and security increasingly decide strategic success, a national defense organization has decided to rethink their material bearing. What was once distributed across the entire country and weather influences were now bundled in a state -of -the -art high -bay warehouse (HRL) - a project that not only set standards through its technical execution, but also through its foresight and innovative strength.

The challenge: complexity, protection and efficiency

Materials of military value make special requirements: You have to be available at any time, be protected from environmental influences and be easy to maintain. In the past, containers, change and rolling tanks have been stored decentrally, often in the open air. This not only led to increased wear, but also an enormous logistical effort when searching for use relevant to use.

Technical systems in particular suffered from the unprotected condition, which led to increased maintenance requirements and security risks - for example with regard to sensitive electronics or combustible fabrics.

The solution: a high -bay warehouse as a strategic backbone

The introduction of an HRL in siloba way revolutionized warehousing. With a dimension of 69 x 31 x 20 meters, the system offers space on five levels for over 200 large -volume load carriers. In addition to ISO containers, non-stackable change and rolling tanks can now be managed efficiently- a unique selling point in military intralogistics.

The integration of special large charging carriers with absorption tubs (up to 200 liters of capacity) also ensures maximum security when dealing with hazardous substances. Combined with a comprehensive fire protection and temperature system (+5 to +35 ° C), a protected and maintenance-friendly space is created- even sensitive electronic components remain ready for operation.

The heart: a heavy load giant with precision

The innovative shelf operator (RBG) is the backbone of the system. With an impressive payload of 18,000 kg, it was specially developed for this application. Instead of the usual rope technology, you rely on riement technology here - a novelty in this weight class. Advantages: Lower maintenance effort, higher precision in positioning and improved stability when the charge is transferred from the shuttle to warehouse position.

A dual drive system ensures that even with technical disorders, the company does not come to a standstill - a central aspect in security -critical environments. The combination of 80 m/min driving speed and 20 m/min lifting power not only makes the RBG powerful, but also quickly and efficiently.

Maintenance newly thought: from the alley to the workshop

Another highlight is the direct connection to a repair workshop. Smaller maintenance can be carried out directly in the warehouse with special access gate system. For larger repairs, the RBG transports the corresponding container fully automatically into the affiliated workshop. This creates a continuous process without logistical breaks - a model for future storage concepts.

Sustainability meets system intelligence

The environment also benefits: Central storage is also possible for numerous transport trips across the country. In addition, the tempered environment prevents frost and weather damage. The energy efficiency of the system is further increased by targeted control systems and the optimized warehouse logistics - less empty trips, more predictability, lower operating costs.

The entire system works fully automatically, but is monitored by specially trained staff and supplemented manually if necessary. The symbiosis of man and machine thus forms the foundation of a high -performance overall system.

Cooperation at eye level - the recipe for success

The project was realized in close partnership with two leading companies: on the one hand a complete provider for intralogistics systems, and on the other hand a specialist for automated high -bay stores. This cooperation enabled a needs -based, goal -oriented development, which meet both current and future requirements.

In particular, the decades of experience in realizing comparable projects led to a smooth implementation. The trust of the clients in the technical performance of the partner companies paid off - the result speaks for themselves.

A system for the future - scalable and safe

What is considered ultra -modern today is designed at the same time so that it can be expanded tomorrow. The scalable architecture of the warehouse structure allows flexible adaptation to changing use requirements. At the same time, the HRL fulfills the highest security standards-both physically and in the area of IT infrastructure.

Well thought -out access management, redundant control systems and comprehensive documentation of all storage movements guarantee transparency and traceability - essential in safety -relevant areas.

More than just storage - a strategic center

With this HRL, a new chapter in military logistics was opened. The combination of innovative technology, well thought -out security concept and sustainable operation makes it a model for similar projects worldwide.

It symbolizes a new generation of warehousing - one that not only has the physical accommodation of material in view, but also integrates the entire life cycle of tools in a single, intelligent system. A logistical power center that not only lifts loads, but also responsibility.
