⚡️ Energy self-sufficiency through green hydrogen

The couple had clear ideas not only regarding the architecture, but also in the area of ​​heating technology. They quickly decided on the innovative solar-hydrogen system from HPS Home Power Solutions. "My employer, WeberHaus, approached me to ask if I would be interested in participating in an innovative pilot project," recalls Fatih Karadeniz. After a visit to the production facility in Berlin, the decision to go with the Picea energy storage system was easy.

This system consists of several components: On sunny days, solar energy is stored in a battery. Excess solar power is preserved in the form of hydrogen via electrolysis, which can be used long-term. The heat generated in this process is temporarily stored in a hot water tank. In winter, the stored hydrogen is used again to generate electricity via a fuel cell. "During the sunny months, we can cover our entire electricity needs ourselves. The hydrogen storage tanks are full by the end of May. In winter, we use the long-term hydrogen storage and generate our own electricity," Fatih Karadeniz explains proudly. The feeling of being self-sufficient and independent from large energy providers brings the family great joy.

🏡 Living experience: Open, bright and cozy

Another important consideration for the family was the design and layout of the ground floor. Thanks to WeberHaus's flexibility, they were able to realize their individual wishes. A large, open, and light-filled living area was at the top of their priority list. With approximately 50 square meters for the kitchen, dining, and living room, the family achieved this goal. Large windows allow plenty of natural light into the house and create a connection to the garden. It's no wonder that Fatih Karadeniz's favorite spot is in the open-plan kitchen, from where he can see everything and where the family gathers around the dining table. The furnishings are in a Scandinavian style – simple, timeless, and inspired by natural elements. Warm parquet flooring, which Fatih laid himself, perfectly complements the Nordic living experience. "We did a lot of the work ourselves: plastering and painting, all the flooring, the interior doors, and the entire landscaping," says the proud homeowner.

The ground floor also includes an office, a guest toilet, and a utility room directly connected to the garage. A particularly elegant touch is added by the folded-plate staircase with a glass balustrade, leading to the upper floor. There, in the light-filled gallery, additional light streams into the entrance area. Nejla and Fatih adapted the layout of the upper floor to their needs: instead of three children's bedrooms, there are two, and the master bedroom has an adjoining dressing room. The bathroom is more spacious, and instead of a separate shower room, there is a practical storage room.

“We feel really comfortable in our home,” says Nejla Karadeniz happily. When asked if they would do anything differently in retrospect, she can only think of two things: “The window in the kitchen could be wider, and we would like a larger side panel for the front door.”
