One in four Internet users (24 percent) in Germany has already bought a product or used a service because a company advertised it on Facebook. This emerges from the 2017/2018 social media atlas from Aktuellkontor. This makes the social network just about more effective in advertising than television. Commercials on YouTube also play in the same league as traditional media. “Companies can now promote their sales with social media communication and advertising on Web 2.0 just as much as with advertising in traditional media,” says Dr. Roland Heintze, managing partner and social media expert at the Aktuellkontor.
