Blockchain and the closely related cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are now known to every child.
But what about fintech companies?
Many shrug their shoulders in bewilderment, yet these companies are poised to fundamentally transform the financial industry. Perhaps the best-known example, PayPal, now boasts a market capitalization of over 90 billion euros, and the value of the still-young payment service provider Wirecard has already surpassed that of Deutsche Bank.
Given the continuously increasing sales in e-commerce, it can be assumed that the importance of fintechs will increase significantly in the near future, while the development of blockchain solutions appears at least partially uncertain – reason enough to compare both concepts:
- FINTECH: Financial technology, or fintech, is a new financial industry.
- BLOCKCHAIN: Cryptocurrency Blockchains: All the information in a nutshell
