The HomePod has been on the market since February 9th. But Apple's answer to Google Home, Amazon Echo and Co is said to be less smart than the competition, as a study by the investment firm Loup Ventures shows.
The creators asked 782 questions and commands to the smart speakers Google Home, Amazon Echo, Harman Kardon Invoke and the HomePod and documented their capabilities. As the graphic from Statista shows, the Google device performed best in all categories. The HomePod showed weaknesses, particularly in the area of navigation, and Cortana and Alexa couldn't keep up with questions about shopping.
However, the HomePod is far ahead when it comes to sound, according to Loup Ventures. The device also scores points for its ease of use when it comes to setup and communication style.
